Steve R. Wonacott, P.E.

Qualifications

Steve Wonacott is the founder and President of Advance Engineering, P.C., and a professional engineer with 20 years of experience in engineering, design, and construction.  He is licensed in Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.  Since 1994 Steve has been in responsible charge of more than 75 engineering projects in Idaho and Wyoming.  He is experienced in civil and environmental engineering.  He has mechanical, electrical, and piping design skills. 


For the past 20 years he has specialized in water and wastewater engineering, with an emphasis on small public water systems.  He has evaluated, designed, or upgraded more than 25 public water systems to solve problems of supply adequacy, water quality, failing infrastructure, or new regulatory requirements for systems ranging in size from 3,000 to 3.0 million gallons per day.


His experience is in both public projects and private development.  He understands government and community concerns, and brings strong project management skills to your project with careful attention to budget and schedule.


He has a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Washington, and is a member of the American Water Works Association and the Water Environment Federation.

President/Senior Consultant - Founder and President of consulting civil and environmental engineering firm providing professional engineering services to public and private clients in eastern Idaho and western Wyoming.  Directs all aspects of firm business and consulting operations and project management.  The firm specializes in public water systems, water resources, and wastewater treatment and disposal.  In addition the firm provides civil engineering and design services including site planning and development, grading and earthwork, septic systems, storm drainage, roadways and parking, utilities, and retaining walls.

1994 - 2000     Jorgensen Engineering & Land Surveying     Jackson, WY

Vice President/Project Manager - Responsible for all aspects of water and wastewater division including technical direction, quality control, and business development.  Projects included water master plans and wastewater facility plans; design of public water systems, septic systems, collection and distribution systems, pumping stations, pipelines, and wastewater treatment facilities; and permitting and funding assistance.  Supervised project teams in the preparation of studies, detailed designs, construction plans and specifications, cost estimates, and construction observation.

1987 - 1994     Brown and Caldwell Consultants     Seattle, WA

Project Manager/Project Engineer - Specialized in wastewater engineering including design of collection systems, pumping stations, pipelines, and treatment plants.  Prepared studies, facility plans, preliminary and detailed designs, cost estimates, and construction contract documents.  Experience with I/I studies, CSO control, odor and corrosion control, and sewer rehabilitation. 


Also performed municipal solid waste engineering including preparation of solid waste management and recycling plans, transfer station design, landfill and landfill closure design, groundwater monitoring plans, and stormwater, leachate, and landfill gas management plans.
